Kairos’ Muses – Part 1: The Beginning (1890 – 1941)
A sweeping saga about female resistance fighters, spies, and an ordinary young Dutchman who seizes every fleeting moment and favorable opportunity to escape his dire fate during WWII and beyond. Based on true events.
In the first part of this trilogy, the reader is taken from the undulating wheat fields on the Ukrainian-Polish border to a miner’s community in the USA, to Hitler’s Munich and Vienna, to pre-war Amsterdam where young medical student Kairos Keizer befriends a Jewish girl who will become pivotal in his life. As Europe is invaded by the Nazis, a young Belgian woman is trying to set up the Comet Escape Line across France and the Pyrenees Mountains to London. Will she succeed? And what will become of Kairos back in occupied Amsterdam?
